What is Fort Ingall?
Fort Ingall is a unique national historic site, located on the shores of Lake Témiscouata. It is a faithful reconstruction of a British military post built in 1839 during the border conflict known as the Aroostook War between the United States and Upper Canada.
Our site invites you on a true journey through time, allowing you to discover the daily life of the soldiers and officers who occupied this strategic post.
It is the only reconstructed wooden military fort in Québec.
Moreover, from Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24) to Labour Day (high season), the site comes to life with our guide-soldiers from the 24th Regiment, who bring the era of the fort back to life. During low season, visitors can discover Fort Ingall with the audioguide.

Our Mission
To preserve, conserve, and use the historical and archaeological site of Fort Ingall, its buildings, and its collection.
To promote, share, and highlight the military and pre-colonial history of the Témiscouata region, its social realities, as well as the archaeology and architecture of Fort Ingall, along with all objects, documents, events, and individuals related to its history.
